Google has announced the general availability of generative AI support on Vertex AI, its machine learning platform as a service (ML PaaS) product.
The company is dedicated to making generative AI accessible and beneficial to all, including businesses, governments, and developers.
This involves not only providing powerful foundation models but also supporting them with platforms that facilitate quick and safe adoption, regardless of the user's software or data science expertise.
With this update, Google Cloud customers can now utilize the latest platform features for creating and managing unique generative AI applications.
Developers can access Google's text model powered by PaLM 2, the Embeddings API for text, and other foundation models in Model Garden. They can also use the user-friendly tools in Generative AI Studio for model tuning and deployment.
Model Garden, which already has more than 60 models available with more to come, allows users to access and experiment with foundation models from Google and its partners.
Vertex AI also offers a comprehensive ecosystem of tools to assist model developers in tuning, deploying, and managing models in production.
